I have been...Carrie, how beautiful and reflective. I have been going through the same thing here too. We have not attended mass regularly, only when we feel we can "fit it in". And I say to myself, what if God couldn't always fit me or any of us in at any given moment? How would that feel? Empty, forgotten and abandoned? I think so. We can all become so selfish with ourselves, our time, our wants, desires, and not think enough about what it is we really "only" need. I so agree with your thoughts on all of this. I live in a big house and I long for a smaller one because the excess that we have created out of "want" we realize now is not what we really "need". I wish I could have been this wise when I was younger but I was blinded by the excess that society says we "need".
Thanks Carrie. I am new to blogging, I'm loving it and hoping to make new friends through it. I will keep checking back with you!
Warm bests-
KarenKarenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11944547517070087105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1995470535422842454.post-63866734566745675592011-01-20T00:37:07.554-05:002011-01-20T00:37:07.554-05:00Hi Carrie...this is my first time at your blog via...Hi Carrie...this is my first time at your blog via your cute picture I saw on someone's blog's comments (lol)

this post is just ironic (even though there is no such thing)...how amazing you can share your inner thoughts here, and how Our Lord was calling you back home...back to the Church.

I can relate - though not for quite some time - but relate nonetheless

so glad I stopped by before bed :)
xo+blessings,
Anne MarieAnne Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11570313791042086593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1995470535422842454.post-44993827899297423822011-01-19T23:38:44.642-05:002011-01-19T23:38:44.642-05:00Lovely words. I can see the hand of the Lord all over it, and you are a blessing to all of us who have gotten to know and love you.

You are so correct in saying that things are not what's important in this life. I'm not saying they aren't nice and that I'm not thankful for things, but the Lord and others are what float my boat and obviously yours, too! Sometimes the refrain of a song that says, "And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace" floats into my head, and I just have to smile. And I think of another hymn that talks about the saints "cating down their golden crowns around the glassy sea." It's all about Him, and He was all about us and His love for us. It's almost too overwhelming to imagine.

Loved reading this post today. You are one of my favorite bloggers, and your honesty and willingness to share your heart are a big part of that. Thanks, my friend...

XO,

Sheila :-)The Quintessential Magpiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010105595059019883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1995470535422842454.post-43346925082822552832011-01-19T11:18:25.132-05:002011-01-19T11:18:25.132-05:00I just clicked over to your blog for the first tim...I just clicked over to your blog for the first time....from urbanfarmgirl (a new to me, blog).
