:: tulips & lemons

Happy Friday Everyone!

Can you tell by the pictures above that I'm dying for Spring. While getting groceries the other day I ran across these lovely white tulips {my favorite},  I just had to pick some up to bring some Spring into my home. I also picked up some lovely lemons as I had seen lemons used in a floral arrangement on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try myself. I just love how it turned out, it's so bright & cheery and makes me so happy. 

I simply used a mason storage jar I had on hand as my vase, sliced my lemons and after adding the tulips I tucked the lemons in around them, using a knife to push the lemons down into the water at varying levels. I did this a few days ago, so this morning before shooting I emptied the foggy lemon water, cut the ends of my tulips about 1/4" then refilled with fresh water & started over. I think the color of the lemons has faded just a bit since I first cut them but I re-used them anyway.

I hope you are having a lovely day where you are, it's still quite chilly here, and supposed to be rainy this weekend. Not exactly the kind of weather I was hoping for since my new raised beds arrived yesterday. I can't wait to get started on them. However.... I don't do cold, so I'll be waiting for a nice sunny day.

{ spring is springing }

Just a little eye candy to start your weekend.

I've been in the throes of spring cleaning,

so not much time to come up with a creative post.

Yesterday, I finished my last load of laundry,

and I also tackled my closet.

I literally tried on every piece of clothing I owned,

trying to decide if I still loved it, or not.

If it was so so it had to go go.

I tagged them all as I pulled them out,

as I plan to have a tag sale soon.

Spring is definitely springing for me, I can't stop.

Today it was just lovely outside,

temps here were in the 70's with lots of sunshine.

Unfortunately my day started out with a visit to the doctors office

with a sweet baby wren who's had a sore throat for a few days now.

Diagnosis....strep, poor thing....fortunately for her,

today was the best of the past three, and she felt very well.

So while she rested up inside catching up on her favorite shows,

I was outside cleaning away with the pressure washer.

Now my patio is all clean and ready to be decorated for summer.

I'll keep you posted on that project.

Oh my, why didn't I take before pics?

Crazy me. Guess I had a little too much going on.

Tomorrow will be another lovely day spent outside...

I'm so excited. I can't wait to sit on my clean patio with a nice cup of coffee,

watching the birds while the sun shines on my face.

Ahhhh....Welcome Spring.
